Meet Josh

As a boy, I have always had a passion to build things. The legacy was passed on from my grandfather and my father who were builders and woodworkers. I have many fond memories of my grandfather and my father teaching me about the trade. My grandpa would sit in the living room working on his latest wood carving and I would watch in amazement.

One memory is when he showed me how to properly use a handsaw. Another was when he taught me how to read the grain of the wood while using a chisel. When I was a young boy, my father would quiz me on math problems while I looked over his shoulder as he studied construction plans and calculated building materials. Occasionally he would take me to his job sites and have me clean up and organize the job.

As I got older, my passion for building grew. I enrolled in the high school’s regional occupation program to study construction technology. I was enrolled for two semesters and applied my education while working at a local residential subdivision. I was eventually hired full-time and worked there for approximately seven years. During this time, I solidified my passion and was able to develop and perfect my trade skills. After hours and on weekends, I also took on side projects and assisted in custom home construction.

My desire to learn and expand my education grew. I decided in the spring of 2008 to pursue becoming a licensed contractor. I was successful and awarded my California’s Contractor State License. 

As my reputation for quality and excellence continued, my client base began to expand. Through word of mouth, my work began to prove to be successful. As the years continued, I had the opportunity to progress my trade and worked with a local contractor. During that time as a subcontractor, I helped to manage projects from start to finish all while honing my skill set.

In 2018, I took the reins and decided to branch out as Clean Cut Construction and hired my own crew. God has continued to guide me each and every step of the way. Through word of mouth and repeat clients, our projects continue to grow. We strive for excellence and take pride in our work. We don’t cut corners and never sacrifice quality for quantity. We hope to continue to bless our community with a high level of craftsmanship and make every effort to make our client’s dream home a reality.
